UCC Men's Golf Day at Mill Run - Thursday June 21, 2007
1st Annual Harry Sear Invitational Golf Tournament

Welcome to The Harry Sear Invitational UCC Men's Golf Tournament

Harry was an active member of the Unionville Curling Club for more than 25 years. He served on the Board of Directors and as President in 2002-3.
He was a qualified Curl Canada instructor and coached the Club's Special Olympic team to the Provincial finals. Over the last 8 years he has been a member of the golf tournament committee.

Harry was a true competitor and enjoyed playing on a winning Energizer Team, as well as golf club tournaments at his Lake Joseph Club Links Course. His competitive spirit was likely learned as a rugby player in his home province, British Columbia.

The Sear family compound on Townsend Bay on Lake Joseph was not only the family playground but created memories for countless friends who enjoyed shared weekends with Harry and Wendy and their family. And when grandchildren came on the scene Harry was there to share his talents and his work ethic with them. But they also learned to water ski, fish and swim.

Most of Harry's professional life was spent as an IBM'er. He began his career as a techie but was convinced that his talents lay in sales where he excelled. After retirement from IBM he continued to use his sales skills at several contract positions with other computer companies.

Today we are pleased to welcome Harry and Wendy's sons to our tournament. Mike and Doug share their father's enthusiasm and competitiveness at golf. They share many of their old man's traits and actually have chosen sales careers.

We are pleased to name this annual Unionville Curling Club Men's Golf Tournament in Harry Sear's memory. It is a fitting tribute that this event is only friendly rivalry among friends, Harry enjoyed that.
